Jakarak

The Jakarak are a native people to the Primal Forests of the Scarrus Peaks. Large in stature with a somewhat reptilian body beneath thick fur coats, Jakarak emit a roar similar to that of a crocodiles, hence their name being an onomatopoeic representation of that sound. Having grown and developed in the Primal Forests, they have developed two distinct subraces who live vastly different lifestyles, treestriders and groundwalkers. Both have large claw like hands which allow them to dig and climb with ease and traverse the giant tree landscape and capture their pray. Survival is of the highest importance to them, making them incredibly skilled hunters and gatherers and certainly not a race to be messed with.

Jakarak Traits

All Jakaraks share some common traits.

Starting Stat: Your Strength stat increases by 2 points.

Life: Jakaraks are considered adults at the age of 50, and typically live into their second century.

Predispositions: Nature is chaos and beauty, and the Jakarak live wholeheartedly in that ideal. Their natures are thus similarly chaotic though rarely specifically good or evil by other races standards, leading most to live a rather chaotic-neutral lifestyle.

Size: Jakaraks are one of the taller races of Colabria, averaging between 7 and 8 feet tall. Your size is medium.

Movement: Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Survival Instincts: The Primal Forests are a harsh place to live. Nature in all its beauty and horror can rip you apart in seconds if you’re not prepared. As such, the Jakaraks developed instincts to keep themselves alive in the wild. Long rests for you are only 6 hours, and during these you have advantage on Perception (Wisdom) checks.

Unarmed Strikes: Due to the Jakarak’s claws they deal 1d4+StrMod when striking with unarmed attacks.

Languages: You speak Common and Primordial.
